Parineeti collects plastic waste from the ocean during a scuba dive

MombasaME: Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra, who is also a certified scuba diving instructor, has shared a video of herself collecting plastic trash and debris from the ocean.

The actress was seen picking up discarded items in the ocean in the clip.

Parineeti Chopra shared the video on her instagram account and wrote, “I had fun diving, but also did a major Dive Against Debris. Join me in creating ocean change.

In the short clip, Ishaqzaade star Parineeti Chopra was seen picking up a face mask, cans and plastic among other ocean objects and showing it to the camera. She even shook her head in disappointment.

While Parineeti Chopra can be seen picking up plastic waste, a caption to the video read, “About 14 million tons of plastic ends up in the ocean every year. By 2020, the amount of plastic in the ocean is expected to quadruple. This could lead to the extinction of thousands of species of marine life.

“Some of these species include sea turtles, dolphins and seals. Fortunately, divers can help save the ocean and these species with Dive Against Debris.

“Since the program started, 90,000 ocean visitors have removed 2 million pieces of litter from the water. I’m happy to have helped save the ocean.

On the acting front, Parineeti Chopra will next be seen in “Uunchai,” which also stars Anupam Kher, Amitabh Bachchan, and Boman Irani.
