Devon nurse, 36, missing after scuba diving in the Red Sea

A nurse who works in Devon has been missing since going out to scuba dive in Egypt, it has been confirmed.

Concerns are growing for Louise Houslip, 36, who may have been washed away in the Red Sea off the Egyptian coast last Friday.

Louise is a nurse in Devon and is from Guernsey, reports The Mirror.

A massive search operation has been launched to locate Louise, with the Egyptian military joining the effort last night, The Sun reported.

A source said: “She was out with a trained guide and suddenly she just disappeared.

“The waters are fresh there and the divers are known to survive for days. “

The 36-year-old has been missing since Friday.



Louise Houslip disappeared while scuba diving in the Red Sea

Louise is listed as having previously worked at Coventry University Hospitals and the Warwickshire NHS Trust.

A friend, Jo, was spreading the word about Louise’s disappearance in the hope that someone with information would come forward.

“(She hasn’t) seen since 2:00 p.m. local time on Friday,” she said. wrote on Twitter.

“Was on vacation diving in the Red Sea (Jackson Reef, Tiran region). We are increasingly concerned about his well-being.

“Please DM me if you have any information or can help.”

Tiran is east of Epypt, near Sharm-El Sheikh.

Jackson’s Reef is a huge tourist draw and receives thousands of visitors each year.

It is generally considered to be a fairly complicated place to dive which is not recommended for beginners.
